Our Trainers

Gail Martin - Trainer

Gail Martin founded the majorette troupe in 1999. Starting off in her front living room at home Gail wanted to give local kids something to do. Using nothing more than sticks as batons Gail would have the kids practising often resulting everyone else in the house been kicked out so that there was room for manover. Summer times were better as they could pratice in the garden!!! Even with being a full time mum to Jodie, Kayleigh, Hayden and our troupe mascot Shannon she always finds time in order to train the troupe as well as being a wife and having a full time job. To this day Gail spends every spare minute coming up with routines and making key decisions about the troupe. She is a brilliant role model to the kids and they see her as being a good friend and confidont. On behalf of the entire troupe and committee we would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Gail for her hard work, determination and dedication over the last 9 years.

Kate Lenthall - Manager

Kate Lenthall is our troupe manager as well as SGT Major you take her as you find her and we wouldnt have her any other way. Kate is the co founder of the troupe. Kates role came about when she realised how passionate her daughter Gail was about the troupe and told Gail that they should take it to the next level!!! and so Grimethorpe Millennium Majorettes was born. Kate is a key member of the troupe and is responsible for most of the fund raising events as well as our annual gala. For the past 8 years she fought tooth and nail to help in the success of troupe and has spent many hours of her spare time assisting Gail. Kate you are great too and from all the troupe we thank you for all you have done for the troupe.

To Gail & Kate we would like to say a big thank you for all you have done for the troupe. The hours of training, preperation, washing of uniforms and all the other jobs you do on a regular basis.
